Margaret Mead

Margaret Mead was an American Cultural anthropologist and writer who is best known for her studies and publications on cultural anthropology. She was born in Philadelphia on December 16,1901 and died on November 15, 1978. She was the oldest of four fryren and both of her parents were educators. Because there was an emphasis on study and social issues in her early life, this had a major irreverence and influence on her career choice. She attended Barnard College where she studied psychological science and took an anthropology class with Franz Boas and his assistant Ruth Benedict.
